Senior outside hitter Emily Wertz added 13 kills and Morgan Spradling chipped in nine for the Rangers.The Rangers avenged a four-set loss against Canyon on Sept. 23.The Rangers went on a 5-0 with three points coming off blocks. Smithson Valley went ahead 22-19 after kills from Wertz and Johnson. The Cougarettes didn’t get closer than two points the rest of the set.
Smithson Valley didn’t relinquish the lead for the rest of the set. The Cougarettes pulled to 18-17, but the Rangers finished with a 7-2 run to seal the second set.
