David Linden said that the reshuffle contained so many supporters of former Prime Minister Tony Blair that he'd "be surprised if we are not invading Iraq by tea time."
Blair justified the invasion of Iraq with the wrong claims that the country had weapons of mass destruction and had links to terrorist group Al Qaeda. It included the return of Liz Kendall, who is part of the Blair-supporting wing of the party. She only won 4.5 per cent of the vote in the 2015 Labour leadership contest."At this rate, I’ll be surprised if we are not invading Iraq by tea time.
The reshuffle also included a promotion for Glaswegian Pat McFadden, who moved from Shadow Chief Secretary for the Treasury to Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and National Campaign Coordinator. Scottish politics Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner was made Shadow Deputy Prime Minister and Shadow Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
Former leadership candidate Lisa Nandy received a demotion, as she moved from shadow Levelling Up Secretary to Shadow Cabinet Minister for International Development.
