🔴 The SNP still owes money to its former chief executive Peter Murrell, the husband of Nicola Sturgeon, Humza Yousaf has revealed

Asked on Thursday if the SNP had paid Mr Murrell this money back yet, Mr Yousaf replied: “I think there is money still absolutely outstanding to Peter Murrell.”

Mr Yousaf also confirmed that the SNP has yet to appoint new auditors and is “still in conversations” to fill the vacancy, after the firm responsible resigned last October. Mr Murrell was seen in public for the first time since his arrest on Thursday, driving away from the home he shares with Ms Sturgeon in the south side of Glasgow.

“Colin Beattie and I came to a mutual agreement, and he agreed to step back,” Mr Yousaf said. “He understood how difficult it would be for him to continue in that role.”
