Federal jury trials had been suspended since Jan. 4, at the height of the COVID-19 surge brought on by the highly transmissible Omicron variant.
– With the drop in COVID-19 case numbers, federal courts in Southern California will resume jury trials later this month.
The U.S. District Court for Central District reported Tuesday that jury trials in criminal and civil cases will resume beginning on Feb. 22. Jury trials had been suspended since Jan. 4, at the height of the COVID-19 surge brought on by the highly transmissible Omicron variant.
