In the run up to the Christmas holidays, the Stella cinema in Rathmines played host to a very special screening of Sam Mendes’ 'Empire of Light'🎥
Ahead of its release in Irish cinemas on Monday, 9 January, The Stella Cinema hosted an exclusive screening for a select few back in December., from Searchlight Productions, is a moving drama about the power of human connection during turbulent times. From Academy Award-winning director and writer Sam Mendes, the film is set in and around a faded old cinema in an English coastal town in the early 1980s.
Starring Olivia Colman as a cinema manager struggling with her mental health, and Micheal Ward as a new employee who longs to escape this provincial town in which he faces daily adversity, both characters find a sense of belonging through their unlikely and tender relationship.Femi Bankole and Simba Bianchi
