There has been a change to social welfare payment dates in the run up to Christmas as banks and post offices will be shut over the festive period - here's everything you need to know
Social welfare recipients will receive a double payment from today due to a schedule shake-up ahead of Christmas.
Banks and post offices are also closed on New Year's Day, meaning anyone who is set to receive a social welfare payment on January 1st will now see it land in their account on the 31st of December.Read more:How to apply for little-known €300 car grant available to all households If you get a weekly social welfare payment, you will get your payment as usual during the week starting Monday 16 December 2024, and an advanced payment for the following week.
