Air accident investigators are attending the scene in Co Westmeath where two men were killed after their plane plunged into a piggery in Joristown.

Eighteen years ago, two men were instantly killed in Raharney - just a mile from Tuesday’s crash - when their Cessna 150 plane got into difficulty. Both 36-year-old men were experienced pilots. One was a flying instructor while the other was about to become a flying instructor.
