They'll spend time behind bars

From a ‘demonic’ killer who stabbed his former partner to death to a family man who was unmasked as a big-time drug lord in Manchester's criminal underworld - these are some of the criminals locked up in Greater Manchester in June.

Midgley was linked to at least 11-and-a-half kilos of the class A drug. He used EncroChat to chat with associates and arrange drug deals. In one exchange, he sent a contact images of kilo blocks of cocaine and said: "Better than I thought bro." Midgley also sent an EncroChat user a picture of £100,000 in cash prior to a drugs deal.

Mahmood, who brought a knife to the scene, was described as looking 'demonic' at the time. He has suffered 'extensive' mental health problems since his teenage years and was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. But he was actually talking to paedophile hunters who had set up 'decoy' profiles in a bid to seek out potential predators. When they went to confront Evans at his home in Salford , there was 'considerable public disorder' as members of the public displayed 'aggression and violence' towards him, Minshull Street Crown Court heard .

Ms Baqri said that the victim "rightly or wrongly" believed that O'Shea, of Wigan , had burgled his grandma's house. Along with a group of friends, he then followed O'Shea. Gangster's girlfriend jailed after taking 'enormous risk' by couriering SIX guns for Cheetham Hill gang A gangster's girlfriend has been locked up after she transported SIX deadly guns to another criminal gang at the height of lockdown.

During a short chase, Cull drove 60mph on the wrong side of the road, ran a red light and drove across a busy junction without stopping. On Gibbon Street, Cull crashed and sent the other vehicle into a parked car. The Mercedes being driven by Cull then struck a fence, another car, flipped and eventually landed on its roof.

Williams was in contact with at least 13 contacts within EncroChat. The usernames of those he was in touch with included 'Terry f***ing Tibbs', a character from the Channel 4 comedy show Facejacker and 'Tyrion Lannister', one of the main characters from the hit TV show Game of Thrones. Their true identities were not disclosed in court.

And when officers later searched his flat in Whiteside Close they uncovered a 'plethora of drugs' worth an estimated £18,600, including 25 grams of cocaine, 287 grams of ketamine, and 123 grams of cannabis as well as MDMA, LSD, and diazepam. Some £2,500 in cash was also found in the flat. The court heard that the gang's activities first came to police attention on October 3 2020, when defendant Andrew Hall, 55, contacted fellow defendants Eneo Zace, 34, and Tedi Hyesani, 28, both Albanian nationals, before collecting cannabis from a farm in St Helens and supplying it to members of the Northern Irish OCG. When the drugs were being transported in Northern Ireland, however, a haybale containing 50kg of the drug fell off a horsebox and was seized by police.

Prosecutor Phillip Hall told Manchester Crown Court that in the video Hardman displayed ‘menacing and unhinged’ behaviour, and was mocking and taunting her, as well as being abusive towards her and her children. In another video played to the court, the woman had taken a screen recording of a FaceTime call she’d had with Hardman, during which he was topless, was 'frothing at the mouth' and hit himself in the face.

Their involvement in large scale drug dealing was revealed by the law enforcement hack of the encrypted EncroChat network, when messages they believed were secret came back to haunt them. Police learned Papangelis, who lived in a plush apartment block in Ancoats, was involved in commercial drug dealing and was linked to about 25 kilos of cocaine.

At the time, Katie Jones and Adam Chesney both worked as prison officers in that unit, prosecution barrister Jack Troup told Bolton Crown Court. Ms Jones had previously put Binns on 'report' and while doing the rounds on July 31 2021, Binns told her: "Watch what happens. I'm not a little muppet. I'll get things done."
