An investigation is underway after a man fatally shot an intruder that was acting as a health care worker while trying to break into the home of the man’s mother in southeast Houston, police said.
According to officers with the Houston Police Department, an older woman that was home alone received a knock on the door from a man wearing scrubs that was claiming to be a health care worker. Police said the woman refused to let the man in and called her son, who happened to be a few blocks away.
Officers said the son arrived to find the man had broken the door and shot the suspect as he was forcing his way inside the home. According to investigators, the woman also had a gun, but it is believed she did not use her firearm.About the Author:
