This all-in-one wireless speaker from Sonus faber may look unusual, but it's the shape that gives it such a fulsome sound thanks to the Omnia's clever Crescendo DSP. Blending Italian styling and Sonus faber's acoustic knowhow, the Omnia sounds superb.

The interface enables users to enjoy their favorite music via a choice of Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Roon Ready, as well as Bluetooth. There’s no over-arching smartphone app for the Omnia, so all streaming needs to be channeled via the streaming technologies. It’s a different approach to the likes of Naim or BluOS, but some people prefer not to have that additional layer of mediation.

The second trademarked feature in the Omnia is Sonus faber’s Crescendo technology. This is an advanced signal processing system that provides a greater soundstage and audio quality by cleverly using the two full-range side speakers in the Omnia to craft an immersive sound. The Omnia’s support for TIDAL Connect was a very welcome feature as I could choose the music I wanted to play using the TIDAL app and then pass it over to the Omnia so it streams the data directly from TIDAL’s servers instead of being relayed through my iPhone. The same holds true for Spotify too, although I use TIDAL out of preference for its high-quality.
