South Africa’s ruling ministers, including its president, have been accused of “living like rock stars” complete with mansions with golf courses and luxury cars while the rest of the country is plunged into darkness in 10-hour blackouts Taz_Ali_ reports:

DA leader John Steenhuisen asked: “Given the fact that we’ve got all these ministers living like rock stars, 97 mansions, free generators, free electricity, luxury vehicles… Do you think its fair that South Africans who are suffering under this cost of living crisis should exist with these ministers living like rock stars?He rejected Mr Steenhuisen’s assertion that South Africa had the world’s largest cabinet, saying the country was “basically in line with many others”.

It expands the new cabinet to 30 ministries, larger than the UK and US , but Mr Ramaphoa insisted it was a “time-bound increase” that is a temporary measure to deal with South Africa’s current challenges.
