At the time, Carmona was entirely unaware that her own father had also died prior to the match kicking off, with her family choosing not to inform her before the clash with England. ‘We send our most sincere hugs to Olga and her family in a moment of deep pain. Carmona’s domestic club, Real Madrid, lead the tributes, saying: ‘Real Madrid, the president and the board of directors are deeply saddened by the passing of the father of our player Olga Carmona.
