England face Spain in the 2023 Women's World Cup final at Stadium Australia, Sydney
Like in their quarter-final, Spain's semi-final took 80 minutes to spark into life.
Yet again, the turning point for the Spanish came from Paralluelo being introduced from the bench, giving Vilda's side a new dimension and providing the opening goal. However, Spain were unable to hold on to a late lead for a second consecutive game as Swedish substitutes Lina Hurtig and Rebecka Blomqvist combined to equalise in the 88th minute.
Luckily for Spain, Sweden were similarly sloppy at looking after their goal as Olga Carmona, with the freedom of Eden Park, crashed a shot off the crossbar and over the goal line. Spain's attacking threat with and without Salma Paralluelo is chalk and cheese, but her best impacts have come against tiring legs — a dilemma for Vilda.
