Spain weather warning for Irish holidaymakers as 40 degree temps on the way for holiday hotspots

Most areas will see temperatures of between 30 and 37C over the course of this week, with highs of 41 degrees predicted and a possibility of 43 degree heat in some areas

When it comes to getting away during the summer, Irish holidaymakers are absolute sun seekers. However, a heatwave is threatening to bring very intense temperatures to certain regions, and those holidaying will need to take care.

Seville could see temperatures rise to 41C, while areas along the border with Portugal will see similar high temps. Greece is also in for the same high temperatures with highs of 42 degrees predicted over the coming days. William Spencer, climate and first aid product manager at the British Red Cross, said: “Heatwaves are becoming more frequent and getting worse because of climate change. Sadly, we have seen cases already this year of the tragic impact high temperatures can have on human life.
