Kinahan gang 'priority fugitive' arrested by Spanish cops as he made secret trip to meet family in Mallorca
Spanish cops have arrested what they called a Kinahan "priority fugitive" wanted in the UK on the holiday island of Mallorca - and he has been named as Liam Byrne.Spanish police released footage of the capture as they confirmed the arrest of a key Kinahan member wanted by Britain.. He was detained along with another man linked to another senior Kinahan gang leader in the UK.
“The fugitive led the weapons trafficking organisation which bought pistols and submachine guns to then sell to other organisations. “During the NCA’s investigation in Great Britain and Northern Ireland several members of the organisation this man belongs to were arrested for these crimes and for drugs trafficking, and a hideout with several handguns, submachine guns and a large amount of ammunition was discovered.
Byrne's brother David, also a Kinahan gang member, was killed in February 2016 - the Regency Hotel murder which escalated the ongoing Hutch-Kinahan feud.
