Both locals and tourists alike have been left furious after a €10 fee was placed on the best seats by restaurants
A popular Spanish hotspot has had tourists fuming after restaurants started to charge extra money for “premium” seats in the best sunspots.
Seville is a stunning town in the South of Spain located in the Andalusia region where tourists and locals commonly eat in squares.One “disappointed” visitor was told by a restaurant that she was unable to sit at one of the best seats outside in the sunny weather as they had already been reserved by customers who splashed out €10 on them.
The local also worried about how this practice could appear to tourists visiting the city, she commented: "As Sevillanos we love our city, we consider this situation as a lack of respect towards the guests that actually come and spend money here." Some other people requested the restaurants explained, with one saying these special tables had been reserved for people who paid so walk-ins could not be given them, adding the charge was explained on their website.
