Investigation underway with specialist search teams at scene after report of 'damage' at house
An investigation is underway after reports of 'damage' made to a house in Prestwich. Specialist search teams were at the scene on Heys Road on Tuesday evening with a large cordon erected along the residential street as investigations continued.
Residents also told the Manchester Evening News that a car was set alight in the area just a couple of days ago. It has not yet been confirmed whether these two incidents are linked.Onlookers told of how police had cordoned off the street on Tuesday afternoon, at around 2 o'clock. Some referenced that they were 'worried' at seeing the police presence, with no indication to what had occurred.
One man said: “The police have been here all afternoon but wouldn’t tell me anything at all. It’s worrying when you have young children at home and want to feel safe." A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 2pm today , Greater Manchester Police responded to a report of damage at an address on Heys Road, Prestwich in Bury.
