Lincolnshire's rural roads see it in the ten worst counties for speeding 👮
Almost 8,500 speeding convictions were handed out in Lincolnshire last year, making it one of the UK’s hotspots for road speed limit breaches.
Just six areas in the entire country had higher 2022 figures than Lincolnshire - with the likes of London, West Yorkshire and Avon & Somerset leading the way at more than 10,000 convictions each. In 2022, 319,025 motorists appeared in court for speeding offences, with 236,480 convicted across England and Wales.
The overall custody rate for motoring offences was just 1%, with an average sentence length of just over eight months.
