JP McManus' Spillane's Tower will not contest the Boodles Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival, with the Ryanair Chase now his sole focus. While the seven-year-old showed promise in open company, trainer Jimmy Mangan feels the Gold Cup distance is still a year away. Mangan is considering the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown next month as a potential option.
JP McManus has opted against running Spillane’s Tower in the Boodles Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival . The Ryanair Chase is now the sole option at the meeting for the seven-year-old.
