It was a twist in the tale that few saw coming, but on Sunday night the current series of Love/Hate heated up with the brutal killing of Dano.
The IRA man hell-bent on seeking revenge for his father’s death was instead ‘taken care of’ my his own comrades. We might have been surprised to see it, but actor Jason Barry said he knew it was coming this season. “I knew last year from talking with Stuart Carolan that Dano`s days were numbered in season 4. Firstly I was happy that he was brought back but nervous about how he would exit. Dano and Nidge can`t exist in the same world so I figured Stuart would kill him off rather than just have him drive off in to the sunset. Stuart really has given Dano the exit he deserves. Its brutal and sad all rolled into one.
Barry, who starred in blockbuster Titanic as Jack’s Irish pal, admitted he was sad to leave the hit RTÉ series, saying; “I will miss working with the cast and crew. A truly great bunch of people and I hope they all go on to do great things in the future. As an actor I will miss being part of a quality show. When you look at your CV it’s split between good, bad and ok work so to be part of a good show is great and I will miss that. I will also miss filming in Dublin.
