. Depop got incredibly popular over the pandemic, as sustainable shopping options were limited with charity shops, swap shops and second hand markets shut down. The app is very similar to Instagram’s format, but instead of scrolling through smiling snaps of friend’s holidays or influencer’s chatter, you are scrolling through listings of clothing items and accessories for sale.

Kim from A Sorted Affair - Ireland's top professional organisers - says that shops like Designer Exchange and The Sustainable Studio are a great option. Joy Cassidy O’Keeffe, manager at Number Eight , a new and preloved designer consignment in Galway City, says that people can easily make some money or rack up store credit to use in store by utilising these services. Swap shops work by asking participants to bring a few clothing items they are happy to part ways with, which are then put through a quick quality control check by the organiser before being placed out on rails, usually arranged by size.
