A St. Augustine doctor has been indicted in a lengthy investigation of illegally prescribing controlled substances in exchange for sexual favors, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's OfficeSince August 2021, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s said it has been investigating Dr. Scott Andrew Hollington, 57, owner and primary physician at Sawgrass Health. The facility is a mental health and drug treatment clinic.
During the numerous undercover operations that spanned more than a year, investigators said they discovered illegal prescriptions that included the use of several mid-level practitioners operating in a telemedicine capacity. charging Hollington with 10 counts of distribution of controlled substances for no legitimate medical purpose and one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
