Star Trek fans have come out in their droves to pay tribute to the late Louise Fletcher 💔
The Oscar-winning actress died from natural causes at her home in Montdurausse, France, having acted from the late 1950s up until her most recent on-screen role in the 2017 Netflix series Girlboss.
One of the roles for which she is being most remembered by fans is as Bajoran religious leader Kai Winn Adami in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, a character she played from 1993 to 1999., it recalled how Fletcher’s character was ‘cunning and ambitious’, having frequently gone up against Captain Sisko and his crew throughout the series.
One fan paid homage to Fletcher’s performance on the show by tweeting: ‘Rest well Louise Fletcher. Thank you for Kai Winn, a legendary villain.’‘Kai Winn is one of the top-tier villains of all time and it’s all due to Louise Fletcher. Rest well,’ someone else said. ‘I loved that I hated her character so much in DS9. What a legend. Rest in peace,’ another fan penned in her honour, while someone else stated: ‘RIP Kai Winn. Louise Fletcher did such an amazing job with this villain. We bid you farewell.’
Itâs hard to believe that Louise Fletcherâs Winn Adami appeared in a mere 14 episodes of Star Trek
