An ecologist warns it's too soon to say whether it's been a complete success as the numbers aren't as big - but it's a start
Belfast's famous starling murmuration could be back following moves to reduce lighting in and around the Albert Bridge.
He told us: "I contacted DfC and they said they would put new lighting on top of the pillars. I contacted DfI and they suggested basically a couple of measures one of which was an opaque light screen on the lanterns... which has helped massively. Conor has urged the public to post sightings of the birds, take videos and photos, so people can see how many birds are taking to the skies to measure the impact of the reduced lighting.
"For the birds to disappear like they did was such as shock," he added. "I guess you don’t always appreciate what you have on your doorstop until it you lose it.
