Pilots working for the popular airline Aer Lingus have voted overwhelmingly to take industrial action in a dispute over pay, with the start date confirmed to begin next week

They are expected to enforce a work to rule status next week, but representatives for the pilots have not ruled out a strike taking place.

When will the Aer Lingus industrial action start? People can expect the industrial action to start very soon with representatives for pilots working for Aer Lingus confirming that it will continue for an “indefinite” period. The pilots will also not log into the Aer Lingus portal or 'e-crew' outside of work hours. They will not answer phone calls outside of work hours too.

The chief executive of the Irish Travel Agents Association , Clare Dunne, spoke with RTÉ's Morning Ireland about the industrial action and what people should do. “They're facing long delays, possibly cancellations, possibly financial penalties, because if they've booked their flight or their accommodation separately, they may lose on that if their flight is cancelled and they can't get where they need to go. So really it's not great and not a great outcome for the summer.”
