Developer Undead Labs has multiple State of Decay 2 updates planned for 2022, including one that will revamp Infestations.
During a live broadcast from earlier this week, developer Undead Labs confirmed that several more major content updates will come to State of Decay 2 in 2022. This news follows on the heels of State of Decay 2's Update 28 release, which went live on December 6, 2021. As the sequel's final patch of note last year, Update 28 introduced outpost and enclave changes, as well as the very helpful Zombie Density feature.
While the Seattle, Washington-based crew continues to improve and expand upon State of Decay 2, the studio additionally has its hands full with State of Decay 3. Xbox Game Studios originally teased the third entry in June 2018, mere weeks after the second title's launch. An official reveal trailer didn't hit the web until summer 2020, however, offering a glimpse at what's next in store for the franchise's continued evolution.
At the time of writing, developer Undead Labs has yet to specify a due date for the Infestations changes. None of the other updates received release details during this week's stream, either. When the studio plans to share more concrete information presently remains to be seen. That State of Decay 2 continues to receive support several years after its 2018 rollout is nothing short of a boon for both active and lapsed players. This especially holds true given the unknowns surrounding the much-coveted launch of State of Decay 3, which itself lacks release-related information. State of Decay 2 is available to play now across on PC and Xbox platforms. .
