Anyone who is eligible for the money will automatically receive it.
State Pensioners who qualify for the Winter Fuel Payment of up to £600 will start to receive letters from the Department for Work and Pensions . The payment, aimed at helping pensioners with rising costs associated with winter, would normally qualify for £300.
It means that some households could benefit from an extra £600 this winter. The payments will start to be made from nxt month and on the Gov.uk website, the DWP states those who are automatically eligible for it will receive a letter in October or November.Normally, those who qualify will receive the money in November or December. According to the Mirror, more than 11.4 million payments were made last year, this includes 36,000 expats living abroad too.
The majority of households who receive the following benefits will get the Winter Fuel Payment automatically: If you do need to claim, you can do this by post or telephone. If you’re claiming by post, you’ll need to download the relevant form, depending on where you live, and send it to: Winter Fuel Payment Centre, Mail Handling Site A, Wolverhampton, WV98 1ZU, UK.
