The road had to be closed
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have issued a comment following an incident in a Nottinghamshire town. Crews from Stapleford, Highfields and London Road attended the incident at 7.30am on Thursday, January 5, after they were called to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service.
A mam suffering from spinal discomfort needed to be rescued, which led to all three emergency services attending the scene in Pasture Road and Hickings Lane, Stapleford. The incident led to a build up of traffic at rush hour. A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "At 7.30am on Thursday 5 January, we were called to assist EMAS on Pasture Road, Stapleford. Stapleford, Highfields and London Road were in attendance, where one male with spinal discomfort was rescued using our aerial ladder platform.
"He is now in the care of EMAS. We left the scene shortly after 9:30am." Whilst the emergency services were working the road was temporarily closed, and some travel delays were caused in the area.
