In the Chicago timeline, a freelance writer named Jeevan finds himself looking after Kirsten , an eight-year-old actress, and taking refuge in a high-rise condo with his brother Frank . These three will ride out the dark early months of the pandemic in a kind of magical wintertime isolation.The future timeline is carried by a luminous, flint-hard performance by Mackenzie Davis as a grown-up Kirsten. She is as great playing Hamlet as she is defending herself with a bowie knife.
