A Status Orange warning remains in place for Cork and Waterford as the rain continues to fall in much of the south this morning.
Meanwhile, in Waterford, conditions are reported to have eased from about 4am this morning.
Gardaí were not called to any incidents as a result of the rain, stating that many chose to stay indoors paying heed to the warning. There are currently no reports of any unplanned power outages or water supply issues in either county however, if any customers are experiencing issues they are encouraged to contact the ESB or Uisce Eireann.“Some of the weather models are showing up to 80mm of rain which, for context, would be the average monthly rainfall in many parts of the country,” he said.
Western and northern parts of Connacht and Ulster have largely escaped the downpour and remain dry this morning.
