Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt might have suffered a serious injury on Sunday.
The normal recovery time for a torn pectoral muscle is three to four months. Watt’s brother, J.J., tore his pec in 2019 and missed eight games before returning for the Texans’ first-round playoff game.
Watt, the defensive player of the year in 2021, is coming off his second straight season leading the league in both sacks and tackles for loss, and had already notched a sack and an interception against Cincinnati when he got hurt. Watt went to the locker room after getting hurt and did not return to the game, which went into overtime. The Steelers ultimately topped the Bengals, 23-20.
