The Ireland boss has accepted his tenure may come to an end following the Netherlands qualifier and new Zealand friendly.
Stephen Kenny accepts he may only have one competitive game left as Ireland boss - but vowed to go down fighting.
For Ireland to nab a playoff, Slovakia must lose their last two games against Iceland and Bosnia while Iceland also need to win away to Portugal in their last game. And Kenny continued: “It’s completely out of my control and I can’t affect that. I just have to try to get a result in Amsterdam. But Kenny praised his players’ application at Estadio Algarve for a professional job done against the Group B basement boys.
“We worked the openings for the goals in a very clever way, with good triangles and movement which made the furnishing easier. “The paperwork is not done yet, so they’re not in a position to declare yet. I don’t know yet about next month.”
