Horror author Stephen King gives another TV show a seal of approval and worth investing time in - Prime Video's TheRig.
Acclaimed horror author Stephen King gives Prime Video's latest television series, The Rig, his stamp of approval. The newly-released Prime Video series stars Emily Hampshire, Iain Glen, Martin Compston, and Mark Bonnar, and focuses on employees working on an oil rig in the middle of the North Sea. But their communication with the outside world gets disconnected after the fog rolls over, and supernatural events start to occur.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now, Stephen King shared on Twitter to recommend Prime Video's latest show. While King didn't elaborate on why he enjoyed The Rig, he stated that he liked it very much. He was retweeting a comment from author Bev Vincent, who compared it to Stephen Markley's The Deluge and explained that it was an "Eco-horror on an oil rig. The Earth Strikes Back.
Despite some of the mixed reviews, it appears that some viewers have enjoyed the series, agreeing with the renowned horror author. In particular, any news about season 2 is currently unclear since The Rig remains overshadowed by shows such as Kaleidoscope and The Last Of Us in the television sphere. But word-of-mouth from King may help its renewal status if it meets the streamer's expectations.
In the streaming era, shows that do not perform well usually get canceled after one season, even if it was generally well-received by critics. Netflix recently canceled 1899, even after receiving mostly positive reviews and getting nominated for the Critics Choice Awards in the Best Foreign Language Series category.

The service, sponsored by the center and held at Ebenezer annually, headlined observances of the 38th federal King holiday.
