The M3 Buoy just off the Southwest coast has now seen a wave of 18.5m also but this buoy is lot closer to Ireland and shows the size of the seas coming towards Ireland with a very concerning high tide coming up for coastal areas.As the storm reaches its peak on the west coast, seas are already choppy in Dublin and the east coast. Met Éireann’s latest forecast suggests winds will continue into the night before calming into Monday morning.

Keith Leonard, national director for fire and emergency management, has warned of “very dangerous travelling conditions” by road and advised motorists to exercise extreme caution.Strong winds are affecting air travel throughout Ireland and the UK today. In Galway, crews are working to restore power to parts of Clifden, Oughterard, Glenamaddy and Recess.A status orange wind warning is in place for counties Kerry, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal until 9pm.Meanwhile, local authorities in Kerry, Clare, Galway and elsewhere have been working since the early hours to remove trees and debris from the roads.
