Shirley explained that the showdown took place at a dance contest and the feisty judge saw red after her love rival drunkenly admitted the revelation.
The TV personality explained in her auto-biography: "The woman in question sidled up to me, clearly the worse for a drink or two, and said, 'You and I need to talk.'
