Giovanni Pernice has spoken out after Strictly Come Dancing star Amanda Abbington said she could not continue on the show and quit the BBC dancing competition
Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Giovanni Pernice has broken his online silence after Amanda Abbington quit the show.
Giovanni was all smiles as he appeared on Strictly by himself over the weekend, following his celebrity partner Amanda pulling out of the live show due to medical reasons. There had been hope Amanda and Giovanni would return to the competition this weekend, but tonight on It Takes Two, it was confirmed that they wouldn't be continuing in the competition.
On Monday, it was revealed Amanda had pulled out of the competition as she was "fed up". "The schedule is very gruelling and after a series of setbacks on the show she has simply decided, with regret, that it's the right thing to do," they added to the Daily Star. Taking to Instagram on Saturday morning, Amanda shared a poignant message with her followers as Giovanni prepared to appear on the live show on his own. The 49-year-old shared a post to her Stories from an account called @positiveminds011 as she broke her silence following the announcement. The image showed a picture of the late actor Robin Williams and the words: "People don't fake depression... they fake being okay. Remember that. Be kind.
