Former Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker has been cleared of misconduct allegations at Channel 5, where he has worked as a news anchor since departing BBC Breakfast in 2022
Dan Walker has been cleared of allegations of serious misconduct following an investigation at Channel 5. The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 46, joined Channel 5 News back in April 2022, following his departure from BBC Breakfast.
An investigator also stated: "There is a lack of evidence to support allegations." A source has also revealed that the allegations had "sent shockwaves" through Channel 5 and ITN as Dan is a "hugely popular figure" and "well respected". The news comes after Dan opened up about the online trolling he's faced since becoming famous. Speaking to The Times, the TV presenter candidly revealed: “People tell me horrible stuff every single day. They shout at you. They send you terrible messages. They tell you what they think of you particularly when you interview politicians, and it genuinely doesn’t affect me."
One incident which saw internet trolls come after Dan occurred in February 2023, when he was knocked off his bike by a car. He was left with facial injuries and required medical assistance after the accident, however he opted not to press charges.
