.Camila_Cabello and Stromae joined forces for a sizzling new remix of 'Mon Amour'
-inspired music video for the new remix of the Belgian pop singer’s “Mon Amour,” which was released Wednesday . AndThe visual begins with an introduction to various contestants, including Stromae and Cabello, who are instructed to interact with each other in pursuit of love and romance. The participants engage in different activities ranging from pool parties and groovy dancing, though the fun doesn’t stop drama from going down, with fights ensuing and luggage thrown from balconies.
Holding a kitschy red lip-shaped telephone, Cabello embraces her newfound post-breakup freedom, but she appears stuck in a love triangle between two guys. “You think only you can have fun?” she sings cheekily. “Think again / I've been boy crazy since I was like 10 / I like him but I also like his friend / Twenty-something, first time I'm free / This summer, I belong to me.”
For the chorus, the “Havana” singer and Stromae sing a hypnotic duet in French, creating a heavenly harmony between Cabello’s soprano vocals and Stromae’s baritone. “My love, my love / You know / There's only you / And that I'll love you forever,” he vocalizes., Stromae said “Mon Amour” is about a cheating man who “every time he’s in a relationship, he fucks everything up.
. It was produced by his younger brother, Luc Van Haver. “Far from disliking or mocking reality TV, [the video] serves as a perfect prism to sublimate the human comedy that is played out in Stromae’s lyrics,” Van Haver said. “In these candidates, there is a bit of each of us.”
