Strong storm batters Southern California, with flooding, mudflows and road closures

Hail fell in Murrieta, and even an underground pedestrian tunnel at Union Station in Los Angeles was flooded.

A new round of flooding, mudflows and road closures plagued Southern California on Tuesday, Jan. 10,Pea-sized hail fell in Murrieta, the National Weather Service said. Porter Ranch in the San Fernando Valley saw nearly 7 inches of rainfall, with Woodland Hills at 6.5 inches. At Union Station in Los Angeles, travelers hopping off and on trains faced flooding in an underground pedestrian tunnel.
