Some poppies arrived from as far afield as Fife, England and Northern Ireland.
Members of Crosshouse Parish Church, together with the local community, got together to knit and crochet poppies for a display outside and inside Crosshouse Church for remembrance this year.
The response exceeded the group's expectations and almost 6,000 poppies were received, allowing to create larger displays. "So, in late March the word was spread in the local community that a Poppy Project Group was to meet fortnightly to knit, crochet, chat and have tea and cakes! The church opened its doors on Saturday, October 26 to allow the community see the displays and enjoy an afternoon tea.The Church will be open on Sunday, November 10, with a Service of Remembrance commencing at 10:45am. Everyone is welcome at this and every service.
