Ms Braverman continued: “We are seeing heightened levels of criminality when related to the people who’ve come on boats related to drug dealing, exploitation, prostitution. Asked if she was concerned the far-right may seize on her rhetoric, Mrs Braverman said: “In my conversations with many police chiefs around the country, they are now reporting back to me that the drugs gangs that they’re dealing with are people who came in small boats.
“And I think that we cannot ignore the fact that many people are coming here illegally, and they’re getting very quickly involved in the drugs trade, in other exploitation, in criminality and prostitution.”
