The retailer has consistently been the cheapest in our comparison since the end of January
A supermarket has consistently been the cheapest for these shopping essentials for the last eight months.
Its bill for the shopping basket containing milk, bread, butter, tea bags, coffee, beans, chicken and mince is £11.58, which is 11% cheaper than the most expensive, Morrisons.Shopper shares how he managed to get £80 Asda grocery haul for just £25 Second cheapest is Sainsbury's with a bill of £12.07, closely followed by Aldi's £12.08, Tesco's £12.37 and Asda's £12.79.
It says that comparisons of a larger number of products, like those regularly carried out by Which?, show that Aldi is routinely the lowest-priced supermarket. That was backed up by our comparison last week, when Aldi came out marginally cheaper than Lidl for a bigger shop of around 30 items.
