Supreme Court will rule on appeal by former CEO of Rehab group Angela Kerins
The Supreme Court will rule this morning on what is described by all sides as an important appeal by the former CEO of the Rehab group challenging the dismissal of her action against the Dáil's Public Accounts Committee. Angela Kerins claimed hearings by the committee in 2014, into money paid to the Rehab group, amounted to a witch hunt against her. The High Court found the courts could not intervene at all in relation to Dáil committee proceedings.
Ms Kerins revealed to the High Court that she had self harmed after the hearing and did not want anyone else to have to go through what she had experienced. She claims the committee acted outside its powers and she wants the Supreme Court to decide if someone in her position is entitled to a remedy before the courts.
