Susanna Reid leaps in to defend her 'really good' host after Twitter remark
Susanna Reid leapt in to defend her ITV Good Morning Britain co-presenter Ed Balls when he came under fire on Twitter. The show was running a trailer when journalist Dave Lee took to the social media platform to ask: “Sorry why is Ed Balls presenting breakfast TV now?”
However she genuinely seems to like the former Labour Chancellor Ed, and in response to Dave Lee's question, immediately replied: “Because he’s really good.” This sentiment was echoed by fans on twitter. Julie tweeted: “I love it when you are on together". Kate Bevan added: “He’s been doing it for ages! And he’s good at it, too." Sally Rawlings made the point: “Sorry are people not allowed to do different jobs these days?”
She tweeted: “Next week marks one devastating year since Russia invaded Ukraine. I’ll be in Kyiv Monday morning @gmb reporting on the cost of war for the Ukrainian people. The effect on the families & children who stayed - and on those left behind when their loved ones fled to the UK.”
