One of three people accused in an armed home invasion that left a man in critical condition was taken into custody, according to a report from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.
Gabreon Brown Sr., 31, of Callahan, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and armed burglary with battery, records show.
Detectives said the victim had been stabbed multiple times in the stomach after Brown and another man forced their way into the victim’s home and attacked him. The victim was said to be in critical condition when he was taken to UF Health in Jacksonville. The victim also had to undergo an emergency operation to save his life. When detectives searched the property, they said they found a trail of blood between the living room and the front porch.
The witness, investigators say, said Brown and the other man managed to push through and began fighting the victim. The affidavit states the fight was carried out on the front porch where the victim tripped on the blanket and fell to the ground. According to the witness, the report says, while the victim was on the ground, she saw Brown pull out a knife and stab the victim multiple times.
