A suspect was arrested on Saturday night after two members of a specialist armed Garda unit were were brutally attacked while off duty in central Dublin - and sources say he had the Gardaí mobile phones on him when arrested.
Sources say the men were targeted by a gang of robbers and it is unlikely the attackers knew they were Gardaí. “The incident occurred at approximately 01.30am. Two males were injured during the course of this incident. “Any persons who may have camera footage from the Dame Street/Temple Bar area, between 1.00am and 1.45am, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardai.
