Gardaí arrested a suspect for questioning in connection with the murder of Adnan Asic, a 60-year-old man from Bosnia who lived in Ireland for over 30 years.
A man living in Ireland for over 30 years has been violently beaten in Blanchardstown as he walked home after a night out. Adnan Asic, 60, who was from Bosnia, was attacked just after 2:30am on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022, as he walked towards Blanchardstown Road North from Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. He later died from his injuries. Gardaí have arrested a suspect in connection with Mr Asic’s death, which is being investigated as murder.
The suspect was being held in a Garda station in north Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, allowing for him to be questioned for up to 24 hours without charge. Gardaí are appealing to members of the public to aid the murder investigation being carried out by gardaí in Blanchardstown. They are especially keen to hear from anyone “who saw two men together at the junction of Blanchardstown Road North and the Old Navan Road” in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 around the time of the fatal assault or anyone recording dashcam footage in the area. Sources said Mr Asic was “very severely beaten” in what was described as an extreme attack. The victim was described at the time as a very quiet man who was not known to gardaí
