Luigi Mangione was detained by police at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania days after a manhunt was launched following the death of Brian Thompson in Manhattan, New York City
A suspect has been charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson following a lengthy manhunt.

The post, published on social media, reads: "Our family is shocked and devastated by Luigi’s arrest. We offer our prayers to the family of Brian Thompson and we ask people to pray for all involved."
In a news release, police say officers made contact with the man, who was then arrested on unrelated charges. The Altoona Police Department says it’s cooperating with local, state, and federal agencies. Police are investigating the path the suspect took to Pennsylvania.
