Gardaí are investigating after the discovery of a suspected explosive device close to houses at Pike Avenue, Garryowen, in Limerick City. An army Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit conducted an assessment and found the device non-viable.

A video of an army EOD robot was shared on social media and included a loud explosion sound, however this is being checked.
