It is understood that the vehicle involved is suspected to have earlier been stolen from a nearby address - and came upon a Garda car. Sources say the Garda car encountered the suspected stolen vehicle, tried to get the driver to stop, but they failed to do so.
A man walking home was struck and killed by thugs in a suspected stolen car in North Co Dublin. The man, who is in his 40s, is believed to have been walking home on the coast road in Baldoyle, Dublin 13, when he was struck by a speeding car in a horrific incident before 1am on Wednesday morning.
The vehicle involved in the incident was subsequently recovered abandoned nearby. “Shortly before 1am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a male in his 40s, was fatally injured. “The road was closed overnight to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road is expected to re-open shortly.
